Now you can edit your existing chatter posts containing files or links. Before Summer 16 you have to comment if you missed mentions in posts.

Follow steps below to enable this feature:

• Setup | 
• Build | 
• Customize | 
• Chatter | 
• Chatter Settings |
• Select Allow users to edit posts and comments check-box.
